Newman Removals have recently added to our fleet of vehicles with the purchase of a small Citroën van. The van has been signwritten and hopefully, you will see it on the roads throughout Gloucestershire. We will use this small van when visiting prospective customer’s to give removals advice and quotations, and when delivering carboard boxes for moving.

This small van will also be used for small removals jobs where the customer just has a couple of items that need moving. We recently used it for a customer in Tewkesbury that wanted us to put 14 boxes of office paperwork into dehumidified archive storage for them. Rather than using much bigger vehicles for this type of work, we hope that it will help us reduce our carbon footprint and help with our green credentials. With the price of diesel at record levels, we also hope it will save us some money and allow us to offer you the customer even better value.

All of us at Newman Removals have been watching the excellent episodes of The Fabulous Baker Brothers on Channel 4 with real interest. Back in November, we were asked to carry out a removals service and take some equipment from the Hobbs House Bakery shops in Nailsworth and Chipping Sodbury down to a gallery/studio in Hackney, London. Newman Removals have recently carried out several house removals in the Painswick area, near to Stroud. Despite some very narrow streets in the centre of Painswick, all the removals went very well and the customers were very happy with our service.

Whilst we were there, we had a walk around Painswick. What a great little Cotswold town. It is only a small town, but it has a great selection of individual shops and character pubs. Of course, it is famous for the churchyard with 99 yew trees (legend has it that the 100th won’t grow). The summer months are definitely the busiest time of year for removals companies, and this summer has been no different. I guess a lot of people try to move during the long school holidays to prevent disruption to their childrens schooling. The Saturday before last, Newman Removals carried out three house removals on the same day. We had fourteen people working to get everything moved smoothly with three vans and a removals lorry. It is great to be so busy, particularly in such trouble economic times.

We’ve just returned back to Gloucester after a large move from Quedgley, Gloucester to Preston. We loaded the furniture and boxes on to the removals lorry yesterday and travelled the 120 miles or so to Preston. We stayed in a hotel overnight in Preston and moved the customers into their new house this morning. Everything went well and wish the customers all the best in their new home.
